Samoa

Education Sector

Samoa was the first country where the Peace Corps staff suggested we hold our trainings with both the Peace Corps volunteers and their local teacher-counterparts, and we are extremely grateful.

Since then we have worked with other Peace Corps offices to pursue a way to include the volunteers’ counterparts in the trainings (even though this has not always been possible). We could already see some amazing outcomes from having been able to include the counterparts, at many of the schools we’ve been able to visit across Samoa, over multiple years. Samoa Peace Corps volunteers work in Education and English Literacy.
