We’re very excited to offer a 6-week computer science workshop series for our third year in a row, thanks to support from Google research!

ASU students, go to www.solarspell.org/exploreCSR for more information on our “Computing for Good” workshop in March and April 2023.

This is a broadening participation initiative, geared towards students underrepresented in computer science to encourage their continued studies. Student participants will learn about how SolarSPELL applies computing techniques for social good, meet ASU graduate school representatives, and hear from industry experts at Google. 2 students will be selected for a paid summer fellowship with SolarSPELL for the summer 2023 term.

The SolarSPELL initiative is proud to have students on our team in every step of our projects, from software and hardware design to impact evaluation to building the libraries themselves through content curation. Students have joined our team as research assistants, interns, fellows, volunteers, and through project-based courses. Please see the postings below for our latest opportunities and information on how to apply or enroll. If you are passionate about this initiative but do not see an opportunity below that matches your interests, please email us at [email protected] with how you would like to be involved!
